Application Process

  1. Short-form application (always open)

  2. Long-form application (by invitation during Fall/Spring recruiting periods) 

  3. Interview (by program team) 

  4. Final Selection 

  5. Participation Agrement (investment agreements and other documents must be complete prior to program launch)

UH Affiliation

In order to be eligible for participation in the UH Ventures Accelerator, applying ventures must be associated with any of the 10 campuses within the University of Hawaiʻi system.  For example, at least one member of the founding team must be either a current or former UH student, faculty member, staff, alumni, or a licensee of UH technology. 


Founding team must consist of at least two individuals. Ideally one founder must be dedicated full-time to the venture, but the team must have at least one full time equivalent (FTE) dedicated to the venture.

Successful Screening Process

Each applying team must satisfy all the requirements of the application process, including but not limited to a successful interview and due diligence process, as well as the completion of all required participant documentation.

Desirable Applicant Qualifications

•    At least two full time co-founders with complementary skills/roles (i.e. technical, business, sales, etc.).
•    Existing, revenue generating customers, at least on a pilot basis.
•    Intellectual property, e.g. patented or patent pending technology.
•    Meaningful market traction for the business.
