What's the process?

  1. Complete the online application by Sunday, September 11. Late applications will not be accepted.
  2. A selection committee will choose students to go through an in-person or Skype interview. Interviews will be scheduled on Tuesday, September 13 and Friday, September 16 at the Shidler College.
  3. Selected students will be given further instructions, including expectations and requirements.
  4. Selected students are required to attend the following pre and post-trip meetings:
    Monday, October 3 • 4:30 to 6 p.m.
    Monday, October 17 • 4:30 to 6 p.m. RESCHEDULED to Noon to 1:30 p.m.
    Monday, November 28 • 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Before you apply:

  1. Read the Application Guidelines from JICE
  2. Read the Letter of Understanding from JICE
  3. Ask your professors for permission to be excused from your classes. (You are responsible for missing coursework.)
  4. Gather the following documents: 
    1. A completed Entry Form.
    2. A current photo (taken within 3 months).
    3. A copy of your valid passport. 
    4. A copy of your transcripts (unofficial PDF/JPEG printout from MyUH is acceptable).

You will not be able to save and resume the application form once you have started. If you close the application before it has been submitted, your responses will not be recorded and you will need to start over. It is recommended that you review all of the questions before entering your information, compose your responses in a separate document, and copy/paste them into the form. You will be required to upload the attachments to the form.
