Allan is the founder of Big Island Candies. Allan was born and raised in Hilo. He went to Hilo High School and the University of Hawaii, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He established Big Island Candies as a one-man operation in 1977, and since then has grown Big Island Candies into a Hilo landmark.

Duane Kurisu is the founder of aio. Duane was born and raised in Hakalau on the Big Island. He attended Hilo High School and the University of Hawaii, where he earned his bachelor’s and MBA degrees. Duane is an entrepreneur, who focuses on investment and operation of commercial real estate, media, sports, food and technology.

Barry Taniguchi is the president of KTA Super Stores. Barry was born and raised in Hilo. He attended Hilo High School and the University of Hawaii. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, became a CPA and practiced accounting until 1983 when he returned to his family retail enterprise, KTA Super Stores. He is the third generation head of the family business, which was founded in 1916 by his grandparents.
