Hoku Scientific Microloan Program

Hoku Scientific MicroloanThe Hoku Scientific Microloan Fund is a loan program for UH students who want to start a business or develop a proof-of-concept. Loans of up to $5,000 are available at a nominal interest rate for a term of one year. Payment plans are tailored to the student's business.

Microloan recipients must be a classified University of Hawaii student during the entire loan period. Proof of student status (copy of valid student id card or registration receipt) will be required with the application.

A student Microloan Committee is responsible for selecting the loan recipients (with final approval by the Hoku Scientific Microloan Board). The Committee will consist of club members from Business, Engineering, Science and other Departments in order to ensure that proper and relevant due diligence is done for loan applications.

The program is co-sponsored by the College of Engineering.
