PACE administers the UH Venture Competition. This competition is a unique learning opportunity for students who aspire to pursue an idea for a business. PACE seeks volunteers who have at least five years of experience in any of the following areas: general business, finance, marketing or law. To volunteer, email pace@hawaii.edu.
The Virtual Professional-in-Residence Program connects UH students and faculty with business experts by email and phone. Business professionals volunteer up to 30 minutes for each appointment to provide their knowledge and expertise on a wide array of industry topics. To join the Virtual Professional-in-Residence program, email pace@hawaii.edu.
Business professionals are sought to share their valuable knowledge and experiences in various speaking platforms. Speakers are needed for PACE programs including:
- Entrepreneurship Live [guest speakers share their entrepreneurial journey]

The University of Hawai‘i and UH Foundation have embarked on a bold vision to build RISE, an immersive, multi-story, live-learn-work community woven into the entrepreneurial ecosystem created by PACE. RISE will serve as a catalyst for economic diversification, and a resilient workforce that can create value for others through venture creation or within established organizations.
We raised $5 million to bring the “learn” and “work” components of the live-learn-work community to reality, and opened in fall 2023. Since opening our doors, we have been able to offer even more funding, mentorship and startup training programs. Donations help us to continue to provide:
- purchase of furniture and equipment to create a collaborative learning environment;
- scholarships for those students needing financial assistance; and
- operations of innovation and entrepreneurship programs.
Join us to create a vibrant community of innovators and problem-solvers to tackle our greatest challenges and reimagine Hawaiʻi’s economy.
