PACE administers the UH Venture Competition and the UH Breakthrough Innovation Challenge. These competitions are unique learning opportunities for students who aspire to pursue an idea for a business. PACE seeks volunteers who have at least five years of experience in any of the following areas: general business, finance, marketing or law. To volunteer, email pace@hawaii.edu.
The Virtual Professional-in-Residence Program connects UH students and faculty with business experts by email and phone. Business professionals volunteer one to two hours of their time and expertise each month to advise on a wide array of industry topics. To join the Virtual Professional-in-Residence program, email pace@hawaii.edu.
Business professionals are sought to share their valuable knowledge and experiences in various speaking platforms. Speakers are needed for PACE programs including:
- PACE Chats [small, focused group discussions]
- Entrepreneurship Live [guest speakers share their entrepreneurial journey]
- Entrepreneurs’ Bootcamp [one-day workshops, focused on business idea generation]
- Entrepreneurs’ Forum [panel discussions for large audiences]
To volunteer, email pace@hawaii.edu.

The University of Hawai‘i and UH Foundation have embarked on a bold vision to build RISE, an immersive, multi-story, live-learn-work community woven into the entrepreneurial ecosystem created by PACE. RISE will serve as a catalyst for economic diversification, and a resilient workforce that can create value for others through venture creation or within established organizations.
We are raising $5 million to bring the “learn” and “work” components of the live-learn-work community to reality, which is expected to open fall 2023. Donations will fund:
- purchase of furniture and equipment to create a collaborative learning environment;
- scholarships for those students needing financial assistance; and
- operations of innovation and entrepreneurship programs.

Join us to create a vibrant community of innovators and problem-solvers to tackle our greatest challenges and reimagine Hawaiʻi’s economy.
