SCOTT PAUL
Scott Paul is the past president of The Facilities Group Hawaii LLC (formerly Kleenco Group), a commercial building maintenance and janitorial company founded in Hawaii in 1971. Scott acquired Kleenco Group in 2012, more than doubling revenue and quadrupling earnings over nine years. In 2021, he sold Kleenco to The Facilities Group, leading its integration with Armstrong Building Maintenance. Scott continued to lead the combined company through 2023 and remains a partner and advisor.
Before Kleenco, Scott was president & CEO of Hoku Corporation, a Nasdaq-listed solar company. Joining Hoku in 2003 as VP of business development & general counsel, he became COO in 2008 and CEO in 2010, serving on its board until 2013. Prior to Hoku, Scott was a corporate attorney and business development professional in the San Francisco Bay Area. He worked at Read-Rite Corporation and law firms Brobeck Phleger & Harrison LLP and Crosby Heafey Roach & May, representing high-tech companies and investors.
Scott earned his JD cum laude from Santa Clara Law School in 1998 and his BA in psychology from UCLA in 1995. He has served on the board of trustees of Temple Emanuel in Honolulu since 2016 and has co-taught a business course at Punahou School Academy since 2015.
