SUMMER STARTUP LAUNCHPAD

Will Powers combines a strong academic foundation in computer science with emerging expertise in AI and Natural Language Processing. He earned a BA in Computer Science from NYU; and a MS in Computer Science at UC San Diego; and is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at UH Manoa.

Prior to his graduate studies, Will worked as a Software Engineer II at CoStar Inc. for two years, where he contributed to a commercial real estate analytics platform. His research experience at UCSD includes developing machine translation and language models, as well as working on projects related to LLMs for drug discovery, fact-checking, and bias detection. He is proficient in a range of programming languages and frameworks.
