DONALD FUKUMOTO
Donald Fukumoto is a seasoned and serial entrepreneur with more than 40 years of career experiences. His professional skill set includes sales and promotion and advertising, distribution and manufacturing, inventory services and merchandising, and more.
Donald is an O‘ahu native, who spent 6 years as a quality assurance specialist for the U.S. Department of Defense in Illinois and California.
After returning to Hawaii in the late 70s, he ventured down many career paths that accrued him a depth and breadth of skills and expertise. Donald opened and operated multiple clothing companies that included men’s and women’s clothing. His experience in textiles and clothing spans everything from manufacturing to operating retail stores. He managed distribution and sales of Frito Lay in Hawaii. During the last 10 years of his professional career, Donald owned and operated an adult day care center.
Since retiring, Donald has remained involved in the community as a volunteer for SCORE who mentors small businesses, and a member of the board of directors for Network Enterprises, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides vocational rehabilitation for people with and without disabilities. He is now pleased to offer his knowledge to students at the University of Hawai‘i through the PACE Professional-in-Residence program.
He received a degree in mathematics with a concentration in computer science from Colorado State University.
